The sun creeked through the small cracks in the motel office wall, The old light tubes flickered a few times hanging on to what life they had, it was a basic meriacle that electricity still existed and was being supplied by the small power plant settlement to the north called Watts. Pete looked at the clock on the wall and thought about how far he could make it that day and how exactly he would manuver the deserted highway 15. There we're alot of old fule trucks intermixed with the cars on the road--all ticking time bombs waiting to go off at slightest. "You okay there friend? You've been staring at the wall for the past 25 minutes..." the owner said, his voice breaking the dull scilence of the small dim litted Check-in Counter/Bar. "Im fine, just planning out the days..."Activites"."Pete siad with a grin, the owner nodded and understood. The man sitting at his bar was another trveler off to the unknown to find some kind of fourtue or refuge, but pete was heading towards New Independce for a different reason, he had a score to settle with a certain Government Official.
Pete grabbed his pack and left the bar and dropped a few bucks into the tip jar, "you have a good day now Mr.Richardson, ill see you some time later, either here or the after life." he said as he walked out into the weed covered parking lot of the old Motel 6. He grabbed his sun glasses from his pocket and put them on as he looked towards the horizion pointing east, and saw the small settlement of Grecton off in the distance and then a little further was the mid-sized settlement of New Ina, a town full of all types of people, the church had a small building of its own there aswell..."well shit...they're here too...what do you know..." pete thought to himself as he bagn the walk to Grecton which was about a good 25 miles east.
Pete had a long day ahead of him, but hell he had been traveling for the past 5 years, and 5 years ago wasn't the greatest time for him, nor was the past 10 years from Denver to Boulder and then out of Colorado, life was a bitch and now he had it easy, but still had the same goal...Kill Michale Yukon...the bastard who started the blookd bath in Denver...

A dust cloud blows across the empty street a man covering his eyes to protect them. he keeps walking with his eyes covered for a few feet before stopping. His hand moving from his closed eyes to the scythe on his back. The weapon slides out of its holster and in one fluent motion chops a gap in the dust cloud. he opens his eyes for s split second before the cloud closes up again; having found neither Raider nor Zombie he places the scythe back in its holder on his back. "Ohayou, are you headed to New Independence as well." he turns to look at Pete Opening his eyes again now that the dust has settled. "or are you stopping at one of the closer towns, either way how about i tag along it will be safe for us both in a group."
Riujin Backtracks to shotgun Pete and stops. his hands brushing dust from his hair and cloths. looking him over smiling at both the gun and bat. "there are allot of zombies out here not to mention Raiders, i would feel better knowing i had someone to cover my ass, and frankly you look like you can handle yourself." He holds his hand out to shake smiling at the man, hoping he didn't come off to pushy. "so whadda say, temporary acquaintances?"

The dust storm began to kick up and pete grabbed his bandanna from his left pocket and tied it around his face and continued walking. Slowly a figure of man appeared int he distance, this peaked his intrests and he walked up a little closer and herd the man greet him. He sounded friendly enough, but pete ignored his greeting and question and kept walking, untill the man had slowed down and started to walk beside him. Pete wasn't really use to people taggin along with him but the guy seemed liek tourist out here in The Great Nothing, so pete lightened up a bit, "yea im headin that way, but i plan to stop in Grekton and board up in New Ina" pete said looking towards the horizion, "your right, there are and thank you for the ocmliment but ive had my share of ass kickings none of which were my finer momenets but i can handle my self fine..", "but yea i guess we can be friends for awhile, though im tellin you now, i dont know you, so if you get eaten whole its your own damned fault, otherwise the named Pete, also known as Shotgun Pete,King Buckshot, or as most of my other friends call me..Asshole, pleasure to meet you.."he said shaking the mans hand. Something told him that this guys was his ticket into New Independence and he'd be damned if he DID let him die out here in The Great Nothing..."this is going to be a shorter trip then i thought..."pete thought to himself...

He smiles at Pete. "well thats good to here, its a pleasure to meet you asshole. I'm Riujin Sato AKA the shadow of death." He points over his shoulder at the scythe on his back as a hint to his nickname. "as to me getting bitten, i may be skinny but i know how to kill me some zombies, I'm just worried about the Raiders. I'm no good with guns." He smiles lifting his shirt enough to flash Pete a pistol holster with a large pistol grip syringe in it. "i don't even own one." he drops his shirt back down and walks on looking around every now and then, just being over cautious about these surrounding that are so new to him. drawn between not wanting to run into anything for the sake of a fast trip, and wanting to kill some zombies out of boredom. He notices the faint outline of a Human(oid) creature in the distance, but its not close enough to go off the road to get rid off.

Pete chuckled, "Heh heh, well thank you Mr.Sato aka The Shadow of Death." Pete looked at the sycthe on riujin's back, "Very nice blade, its rare out here to see some one with a blade that size. I mean i keep my pocket knife with me but im not carry;in farm equipment, hahahaa" Pete laughed.
By now the morning clouds had disapated, the blue covered out in a blanket of tan dust. "Well thats good, that means i dont have to look over my shoulder. But about the guns...well i wouldn't be caught dead without Blazer, i've had it sense my C.P. days in Denver, man those were some wild times..." pete said rubbing the barrle of his shotgun." The sun was starting to break through the clouds a bit now and the dust had gone down, the barren road of HW-15 starting to show its cracked and scarred black-top. "Nice i leik the idea of being sneaky...though i perfer a more...Direct method ya know...I never really-"Pete stops dead sentence and sees the same shape Riujin does. he cocks his shotgun...and looks at riujin and says "well...if you dont mind sense i am covering your ass may i kill what ever this may be?" pete was wanting a nice exsploded head to start his morning...

snickering at his comments Riujin waves him past. "go ahead take him, i wouldn't want to get blood on my farm equipment. besides there is always more then one" he goes to watch Pete kill the zombie or raider. taking his scythe off his back and holding it incase another one shows up. "i love living here. back in the war i felt bad for killing people, now they aren't people." He smiles at Pete, thinking about how many there will be. "hope there aren't to many we need to finish it before nightfall, cant be here all day can we." he gets a bit closer seeing a few more. Riujin starts to twirl his scythe around in his hand. waiting for Pete to kill the first one before e runs in and draws to much attention. in all he counts five; might be more there behind some tall rocks

Pete grins, this morning was gonna be a good one, like a man once said "The best part of waking up, was blowing a zed's skull up" and the man was right. Pete nodded his head and walked up to the zed and looked at it. The smell was well..what else do the dead smell like? But pete had killed so many it didn't affect him, so he casually stroled up and drew his shotgun and shot the zeds skull wide open, spraying greay matter and blood all over HW-15. Pete was feelin good, "nothing like killing the dead to make you feel alive!"Pete said as he grabbed his steel bat, "Now lets see how well you Monkies play ball" Pete twirled the bat and smashed in the skull of another one with ear slplitting crunch. "There ya go. Im going to check those rocks, have fun here...i left three for ya..."Pete said while walking towards the tall rocks...
(i dont wanna be stingy so i left a good ammount for ya, conssiter it a early present lol)

Riujin rushs forward his scythe cutting clean threw a zombies legs making it fall forward. He spins his scythe around as he turns the blade taking off the zombies head before it even hits the ground. "who is next." he smiles picking a rock up from the ground and tossing it at another zombies head to get its attention. "turn around dip-shit im over here." he grins as the zombie starts running towards him; Riu simply holds his scythe with the blade out in front of him and watchs the zombie impale itself on it smiling. "stupid animals."
Pulling the blade to the side he chops the zed in half tossing the scythe at the third one and walks over to the corpse. He takes out his syringe and sticks it into the zombies neck taking its blood and placing it into a vial from a pouch on his side. he puts away his Syringe and puts the vial back in his puch, before grabbing his scythe and walking bake to Pete. "you having fun Pete."

Pete looks behind him and watches riujin, "well...if you can't be a damn show-off heh heh" pete says as he looks behind the rocks and finds a cowering raider, "AH! f-f-fuck! s-s-sorry!P-p-pleas don't k-k-kill m-m-me!!!", pete grinned and grabbed him by the old hoody he woreand dragged him into the middle of the road. "Well shit Riu look at what we got here my friend...a raider whose lost his squad...what? The crew not find you tough enough fucking coward?!" pete says as he throw the raider to the ground, "n-n-no...p-p-please d-d-don't k-kill m-me!!!!!!" the raider cries. "hot damn and you beg for your own life liek it m-m-means something...your scum! You kill inoccents, you kill women and children and dont think twice! You are the lowest form of human life..."pete say in a ominess tone. He cocks his shotgun, the sound making the raider jump, he puts the barrel to the back of the raiders head "Ah!!P-p-p-please!!!!", "WHADDA YA THINK SHADOW OF DEATH?! SHOULD I END THIS SHITS LIFE HERE ON THE GREAT 15?! OR SHOULD I LET HIM LIVE?!" pete yells to riu, this was the point at which pete turnned on his crazy act and thought "Heh he thinks im a fuckin physchopath...this is great...", "WELL RIU!? WHATA IT GONNA BE!!!! " pete yells to riu looking for a thumbs up or a thumbs down... (Your choice friend ^_^) |

Riujin grins thinking to himself about option three. "well Mr.Raider do you know were your squad is. you are likely to die out here all alone. I'm a doctor i cant condone killing you. So here is the plan we will let you go, but first i need to Vaccinate you for anything you might catch out here." he walks behind the Raider staying close to Pete. Taking the vial of Zombie blood out of his pouch he takes a small bit of it back into his syringe and injects it into the Raiders arm. "OK go home to your friends and get some rest I'm sure you are going to have a long trip." he puts his syringe and vial of blood away and walks away taking Pete with him.
when they are out of Ear shout he snickers to himself. "well, i hope he makes it back to his friends before that zombie blood turns him. it would be a shame if the Whole squad lived."

Pete lowered his shotgun and slung aaround his back. "shit man i wanted to wax his fucking skull open...Your a lucky son of a bitch today friend!." He watches as Riujin injects the raider with a virus and grins. "get the fuck outta here now ya shit!"pete yells at the raider as he runs away into the open feild off the highway. Pete waits untill the raider is but a mere speck on the horizion and laughs "HAHA! Damn your creative!! I liked how you did that my friend...still wish i woulda got to blow his open...".

By this tiem the sun was higher in the sky and it had heated up a bit sense the morning hours. A Vulture flew through the sky and looked for its prey, which in this case was the corpes of the undead. "Hey! look Grecton!" pete says with enthusiasum, "i love rolling through there, i have a few friends from my old days in denver there...mostly old contacts and look-outs we had, they're good people." pete says looking at his watch, which he swears is the only one that still works. "so what about you riujin? whats your story? hell i figure if im gonna be going to New Independence with ya might aswell get to know you...so where ya from?" pete said. Getting information was one petes few people talents, he could find out just about anything about a person; Anything from kids, to blood type, to sexual prefference, and all that good stuff in between. But the weird thing was, pete himself wasn't exactly an open book, most of past included violence and killing, not to mention the horror or finding the HQ in a blood abth with his friend skulls splattered on the walls...

Riujin smiles at Pete. "almost there, and im from Neo Tokyo. Kinda far from Home hu; anyways IM Headed to New Independence to talk about how much food and water they need shipped here." he keeps walking his hands in his pockets while he watchs a few small clouds float threw the sky. "maby you could come visit the city some time, it would be a long trip but once you got there it would be worth it." he smiles at his friend, shifting his scythe on his back. thinking about what the town they were about to enter is like
"So what about you were are you from." he looks at pete not really caring if he got an answer or not. "what are you headed to New Independence for, any special plans once you get there. More importantly can you get in, i hear they amped up security." he smiles at his new friend wondering the answer to this question.

Pete looks at him, "yea japan is pretty far, im suprised N.I. didn't send a chopper to pick you up. i guess they didn't know you we're on your way...typical..." Pete looks at an old Nextel sign and laughs. "Well..ill think about it, sounds like a guy like me wouldn't be accpeted in your country...", when riujin asked him about himself and is pourpose for going to N.I. pete thought about it for a second and condensed it down "Well..i was bron before the war, i worked as a Civil Portection crew member in Denver,CO around the time of the mass exsterminations. My entire crew is dead and the ones who lived have scattered to the four corners." pete said in a dry tone as he continued to walk, "and as far as my pourpose for going to N.I., well...i have a person who i need to...'Talk' to about somethings that happened a few years back in Denver" pete gripped his bat in its holster as he thought about it..."but yea..thats my story..." Pete said scatching his cheek...

"as long as you have a good reason to "Talk" to this guy il make sure you get into the city.". he walks abit ahead and looks at Grecton. "almost there, hey you've been here before they got anything good to drink." He smiles to himself before laughing out loud. "if you think about it your lucky that N.I. is cheap if they sent a chopper you might not be able to get into the city." he smiles at Pete speeding up abit. wanting to get to Grecton Before it got to late, and get somthing to drink
he takes his right hand out of his pocket and scratchs the back of his head. before covering his mouth and caughing violently. taking a cloth out of his other pocket to clean some blood off his hand. looking at Pete wondering what was going threw his head right about now.

pete laughs and grabs a cigard from his inner coat pocket and takes it out of the tube, "yep...sounds like they cheap bastards...but you do have a point...i woul dhave a helluva time getting past guards with machine guns..." Pete laughs as he lights the cigar and takes a drag, enjoying the scent they give off, "ahh nothing like a good Rigota at 11:30 in the morning...and yea ive been the Grecton many times, its an old truck stop town, they have a good bar with good drinks at good prices...i trust them with my liver!" petes says as he takes another drag.
He watches Riu speed up to get infront of him and watche shis cough up blood and grabs his shotgun and cocks it, "Thought you we're clean man! You playing fucking games with me man!"Pete says, now petes not aware of Riujin's condition, things like this usally lead to tearing of flesh and usally infection and he'd be damned with he got this far to die....
